An autocad-12 based maintenance management system for manufacturing

This paper proposes a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) based on the software package AutoCAD Release 12 as a solution to the maintenance challenge in a manufacturing firm. The system proposed here uses Release 12 in conjunction with the database program dBASE IV. The two programs are linked using the Structured Query Language (SQL) capabilities inherent in both programs. An example is provided in which a manufacturing cell in a plant is drawn in Release 12 and connected to its corresponding maintenance data in dBASE IV.
