Applying queueing theory to improve the modeling of spares provisioning of small combat aircraft units

In Operation Desert Storm, aircraft were organized in small units. These units shared spares internally and operated aircraft with redundant systems. In this paper we compare three quick response approaches based on queueing theory to model and assess the combat effectiveness of spares provisioning decisions for such units.
