A production information system, an application in the pharmaceutical industry

This paper presents the development of a Production Information System which has been implemented in a pharmaceutical plant. The main purpose of the system is to monitor the daily productions. The system serves as a tool to keep track of the details involved in all the production areas with virtually no time delays after any production lot is completed. The details include: production quantities, labor hours, scrap, and downtime.
