Abstract
This paperpresentspower-of-twopoliciesforasingle-warehousemulti-retailersystem.Inthissystem,
discounts onthepurchasingcostbasedonorderfrequencyaregiventothewarehouse.Modelswithas-
sumptions analogoustotheEOQenvironmentarediscussedforall-unitandincrementalorderfrequency
discounts. 94%-effectivepower-of-twopoliciesaredevelopedforbothmodels.Forincrementaldiscounts,
a 98%-effectivepower-of-twopolicyforavariablebaseplanningperiodisalsoderived.Foreachmodel,
a computationalstudyshowseverytestproblemconsideredhasapower-of-twopolicythatisover96%
effective. Anextensiontoholdingcoststhataredependentonthepurchasingpriceisalsoprovided.
