Abstract :
We developadecompositionmethodfortheTime-ConstrainedProjectSchedulingProblem(TCPSP)
with adjacentresources.Foradjacentresourcestheresourceunitsareorderedandtheunitsassignedto
a jobhavetobeadjacent.Ontopofthat,adjacentresourcesarenotrequiredbysinglejobs,butbyjob
groups. Assoonasajobofsuchagroupstarts,theadjacentresourceunitsareoccupied,andtheyare
not releasedbeforealljobsofthatgrouparecompleted.Thedevelopeddecompositionmethod
separatestheadjacentresourceassignmentfromtherestoftheschedulingproblem.Testresults
demonstratetheapplicabilityofthedecompositionmethod.Thepresenteddecompositionformsafirst
promisingapproachfortheTCPSPwithadjacentresourcesandmayformagoodbasistodevelopmore
elaboratedmethods.
