Convexity of the first eigenfunctions of Sturm–Liouville eigenvalue problems

By means of variational method, we give some criteria so that the first Dirichlet Sturm–Liouville eigenfunctions will be convex somewhere or the number of peaks of those eigenfunctions will be greater than one.  2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
