Abstract :
In this paper the authors derive exponential decay bounds for the temperature and heat flux as defined by the generalized Maxwell–Cattaneo equations for heat conduction in a bounded region R3 when the temperature and the tangential components of the heat flux vanish on the boundary. They also derive bounds in R2 for the heat flux and temperature when the heat flux is assumed to vanish on the boundary but no boundary condition is imposed on the temperature.  2004 Elsevier Inc.
