Abstract :
The exact examination of the energy equation is constructed for the same problem studied by C. Y. Wang (Appl. Sci. Res.45, 1988, 367-376) for the heat transfer to an underlying fluid due to the axisymmetric spreading of material on the surface with power-law temperature distribution. The results are expressed in terms of the hypergeometric functions. Numerical integration by shooting is no more necessary in the present appropriate coordinate transformation. Film cooling effects are observed for some specific temperature parameters of the power-law distribution and Prandtl numbers.
