Abstract
Thispaperdealswiththedevelopmentofanintegratedthermal-hydraulics–neutronicsmodelforRBMK-1500reactorsfortheanalysisofspecificplanttransientsinwhichtheneutronicresponseofthecoreisimportant.AsuccessfulbestestimatecoupledRELAP5-3DmodelofIgnalinanuclearpowerplant(NPP)hasbeendeveloped.Thevalidationofthethermal-hydraulicmodelhasbeenperformedusingoperationaltransientsfromIgnalinaNPP.TheresultsofthecalculationsobtainedwiththeRELAP5-3Dmodelcomparereasonablywiththerealplantdata.TheRELAP5-3DnodalkineticsmodelprovidesreasonableagreementwithIgnalinaNPPreactorpowerandcoolantdensityprofiles.Theeigenvalueisclosetounity,indicatingthatreasonablevaluesarecalculatedfortheneutronfluxes.
