Abstract :
Itisimportanttoaccuratelyestimatetheeffectsofstrongearthquakemotionsonthebasematupliftbehaviorandstructuralresponsesfortheseismicdesignofnuclearpowerplantbuildings.Inthispaper,ananalysismodelwhichdescribesthesoilpartusingthe3dimensionalFEMwasproposedtobeusedwhenthegroundcontactratioislow,andthevalidityofthismodelwasconfirmed.Furthermore,investigationsusingthemodelwerecarriedoutwheretheattachingforceunderthebasematwastakenintoaccount,inordertomorerealisticallyestimatethebasematupliftbehavior.Theeffectsinthecaseofthebuildingbeingembeddedwerealsoinvestigated.
