Abstract :
Seismicanalysisofliquidstoragecontainersisalwaysdifficultintheseismicdesignofnuclearreactorequipment.Themainreasonisthattheliquidwillgeneratesignificantseismicloadsunderearthquake.Thesedynamicliquidloadsusuallyformthemainsourceofthestressesinthecontainer.Forthiskindofstructure–fluidcouplingproblem,somesimplifiedtheoreticalmethodswereusuallyusedpreviously.Butthiscannotsatisfytherequirementsofengineeringdesign.TheFiniteElementMethod,whichisnowfulldevelopedandveryusefulforthestructuralanalysis,isstillnotmatureforthestructure–fluidcouplingproblem.Thispaperintroducesamethodsuitableforengineeringmechanicalanalysis.Combiningtheoreticalanalysisofthedynamicliquidloadsandfiniteelementanalysisofthestructuretogether,thismethodcangivepracticalsolutionsintheseismicdesignofliquidstoragecontainers.
