Abstract :
Lowcyclefatigueresistanceoflow-alloypressurevesselsteelswasinvestigatedinsimulatedboilingwaterreactor(BWR)water.Muchattentionwaspaidtotheeffectsofloadingfactorsonfatiguelifeandenvironmentallyassistedcracking(EAC)behavior,inwhichstrainrate,strainwaveformandstrainamplitudeweretakenintoaccount.ThefatigueresistanceandEACbehaviorofthesteelsinsimulatedBWRwaterwerefoundtobecloselydependentonthestrainrate,strainwaveformandstrainamplitudeapplied.Theabovefatiguebehaviormaybeattributedtoloading-factor-inducedchangeindominantEACprocessesinhightemperaturewaterenvironments.RelatedEACmechanismsarealsodiscussed.
