Abstract
Anumericalinvestigationiscarriedoutforturbulentdroplet-ladenflowofsaturatedsteamproducedinasteamgenerator(SG)thatfeedssteamturbine(ST)throughalongandmulti-bendsteampiping.Themainpurposeofthestudyistoanalyzedepositionofdropletsthatformawallfilminthepipingsystem.CommercialCFDcodeStarCDisusedforthesolutionofturbulentflowfieldofdroplet-ladensteam.Turbulenceistreatedusingk–ωmodelofturbulence.Wallfilmformationissolvedbyadditionalconservationequations.Twotaskswereperformed:parametricstudyofthedepositionina90°elbowpositionedwithdifferentorientationandthedepositioninamorecomplexpipingsystem.Thissystemstartswithoutletsfromsteamgeneratorwithfivemouthpiecesleadingtoacollectorpipeandconnectingthesteampipingleadingtoasteamturbine.Thesteampipingconsistsofthreestraightsegmentsofpipesandtwo90°elbowsinthetotallength17m.Thediameterofthesteampipingis0.425m.Resultsofthesimulationsshowwheredropletsdepositandwherealiquidseparatorshouldbeplacedtodrainawaythewaterfilmandtoavoiddropletsfromenteringthesteamturbine.
