Abstract
The aim of this work is to propose a stability analysis of Multiblock Structured Algorithms (MSA) coupled with a Multistage Time Stepping (MTS) integration procedure for the solution of fluid-dynamics equations. The influence of internal boundary conditions on the algorithm stability is discussed when the matching procedure is suited to minimize the exchange of information between blocks (the interface boundary conditions are “frozen” at the first stage of the MTS). The stability method of investigation is based on the normal mode analysis and provides accurate limits for the time step. Finally, numerical test cases are presented and discussed.
