The numerical simulation of the hydrodynamics of Barbamarco Lagoon, Italy Original Research Article

A three-dimensional numerical model in finite differences was used to simulate the transport and mixing in Barbamarco Lagoon, Italy. The field data for the boundary conditions and for the conditions within the lagoon are described in an earlier paper by Ramirez and Imberger [Hydrodynamics of a shallow lagoon: Barbamarco Lagoon, Italy, submitted, 2000]. In general, the model reproduced the main features of the circulation and stratification regimes.
