Abstract
Hematological and biochemical tests could be suitable diagnostic instruments for health monitoring or following of responses to therapeutic regimens, and giving a prognosis to some of poultry diseases. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effects of sex on normal biochemical and hematological parameters in adult indigenous chickens. In this study, values for PCV, WBC, heterophils, lymphocytes and basophils of the cocks differed with those of the hens (P < 0.05). For biochemical parameters, values for ALT, AST, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous, and total protein of cocks differed with those of hens (P < 0.005).
