Abstract
Falling in the elderly has provoked a heated discussion among gerontologists and physical therapists. There are some
reasons of falling in the literature and this review discuss fall from the psychological, physiological and biomechanical
view. Depression, fear of falling and anxiety are the psychological aspect of falling. From the vision of physiology
wear and tear theory, Genetic theories, damage theories, and cross-linking theory are the reason of falling. Gait disorder,
and balance are in the biomechanical aspect of falling.
