Abstract
The study aimed to explore how the Health through Warmth (HtW) Scheme, aimed at helping vulnerable people to increase energy efficiency in their homes, might be expected to impact on three groups: direct beneficiaries, those making referrals, and the wider community. Initial discussions and a selective literature review resulted in the compilation of an ‘impact pathway’, which traced the possible health impacts of the Scheme. A survey of referrers was undertaken to explore these impacts in greater depth. Of particular interest is the fact that while this study was initiated by a private company, it assessed the health impacts of the partnership between that company and various public sector agencies.
