Abstract :
Most developing countries are adopting environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures that have more linkage with western European and North American models than with the socio-economic and institutional conditions in developing nations. Ghana is no exception. Based on field research, this article examines Ghanaʹs EIA procedure, and offers suggestions that could improve EIA process in the country and facilitate its adoption in other developing countries.
