  • Abstract
Water is one of the most important sources of life and is rapidly being contaminated by cleaning agents, such as detergent. Water pollution is a large threat to living things, and it is gradually making our world uninhabitable. Detergents, containers of phosphate, bleaches, and dirt separators are damaging the environment when they are poured into seas, lakes, and underground water storage. Every year, 50 million tons of detergent is used in the world. This massive amount is bringing a slow death by contamination to seas and lakes. Protecting the environment and the living things within it is one of our most important goals. In this study, the sunflower stalk is investigated as an alternative ʹGreenpeaceʹ detergent. The white-colored inner part of sunflower stalks is used to make environmentally friendly cleaning agents. Furthermore, these leftovers could contribute to the global economy because sunflower stalks remain in the field after sunflowers are gathered.
