Photosynthetic performance and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) accumulation by the macroalgae Ulva laetevirens

These are preliminary findings of recent laboratory experiments for the evaluation of short-term photosynthetic performance of Ulva laetevirens. Study of the accumulation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and the distribution of the PCB congeners as a basis for evaluating the effects on physiological processes such as photosynthesis and respiration are included in the future research programme.
