Theoretical aspects of polychlorinated bornanes and the composition of toxaphene in technical mixtures and environmental samples

Theoretical aspects of polychlorinated bornanes—the major part of technical toxaphene—and the composition of technical toxaphene were compared with results derived from multidimensional gas chromatograph analysis of the multicomponent mixture. Stereochemical aspects and a common nomenclature for polychlorinated bornanes are presented. Considerations of the persistence of some toxaphene compounds are made.
