Magnetostochastic resonance as a new method for investigations of surface and thin film magnetism

A magnetostochastic resonance (MSR) in easy-axis ferrite-garnet films has been experimentally observed. The tunneling parameters of bistable systems with volumes as small as 10−10 cm3 have been evaluated. An MSR application in scanning tunneling microscopy for deterction of states of individual atoms is discussed.
