Abstract :
Kinetic energy and charge state dependencies of soft X-ray yields from Mo and Ta polycrystalline targets have been investigated for kev Oq+ (q = 2–7) ions. For X-rays for target atoms, MoM1N2, 3, MoM2N4, TaN2O4, TaN3O4 and TaN3O1, these dependencies of the X-ray yields were nearly the same as those of O Kα. The possible explanation is that the charge transfers from the 3s, 3p levels for Mo and the 4p levels for Ta to the 1s level of oxygen ions take place.
