Abstract
The electrical resistivity ϱ and magnetization M of both bulk and thin film NdFeB samples have been investigated. For film type samples, the slope of the electrical resistivity dRdT below room temperature is decreasing with decreasing thickness of the films. The temperature at which the electrical resistivity increases abruptly for non-magnetic films varies from 580 K for 1000 Å to above 860 K for 10000 Å; and for magnetic films varies from 620 K for 1000 Å to above 900 K for 10000 Å. These phenomena can be explained by the observed shear modulus between films and substrates. The magnetic anisotropy is larger in the film type samples than in the bulk samples. The highest anisotropy of the films in this investigation corresponds to an intrinsic coercivity of 5 kOe.
