Morphologic studies of nanocrystalline CdSe thin films

Nanocrystalline particulate CdSe thin films with different particle sizes were prepared by chemical deposition. Optical absorption spectra blue shifted with the decrease of particle size proving a pronounced quantum size effect. SEM and STM imaging were used to examine the surface morphology, particle size and shape. The photoelectrochemical activity was revealed by micro area photocurrent spectrum.
