New binding state useful for attachment of dye-molecules onto TiO2 surface

Two novel ruthenium polyridyl complexes with the carbonyl or oxime groups were prepared and characterized by IR, UV-visible and photoaction spectra. IR and absorption spectra showed the favorable interfacial binding between the dye-molecules and TiO2 surface. The IPCE performance of the complexes was found to be outstanding.
