Abstract :
An investigation has been carried out into the development of a novel cermet cathode material with enhanced
conductivity through low volume fraction additions of an acicular conductive phase. The manufacturing process is
compatible with current commercial techniques and is anticipated to result in little additional costs. Results have indicated
that this form of conductive phase overcomes many of the problems identified in previous attempts to enhance conductivity
by conductive phase addition, with the percolation threshold for conduction being of the order of 5 vol.% metallic phase.
Encouraging results have been obtained in emission trials. q1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
