Elastic effects on growth processes

Phase transformations in and on elastic substrates are affected by long-range elastic forces. Two examples are discussed. Fractal growth of adsorbed clusters and coarsening of isotropic inclusions inside a solid matrix are described by selfconsistent scaling methods.
