Abstract :
The synthesis of CdS quantum dots which are embedded in a sulfonic group polyaniline (SPAn) polymer and grown in self-assembled layers is reported and the luminescence spectrum is investigated. The intensity of the luminescence increases with the number of layers; the band-edge emission results from the direct recombination of excitons and the red-shifted emission from trap states. Also, heat treatment enhanced the intensity of the luminescence, which indicates that the recrystallization occurs during this process and the number of traps decreases.
