Ethanolic crude extract of 1. imbricata Lind!. (Iridaceae) was subjected to column chromatography on silica gel with varying portions of MeOH: CHCly Nigicin (irisolone) was isolated and its identification ca rried out by JR, UV, MS, I-D and 2-D NMR spectroscopy.
