In the summer of 2006, Israel launched a premeditated attack on Lebanon with the aim of curbing Hezbollah and securing its northern borders. But after 33 days of full-scale war, it failed to achieve its military and political objectives. The failure of Israelיs Defense Force diminished the level of Israelיs national security in terms of military, political, economical and social dimensions. This essay is seeking to identify, elaborate, and analyze the affects of the 33-day war on Israelיs national security in the framework of asymmetrical warfare theory
