In this study, a model of behavior was written ofthe isotropic plates and multilayer
plates of active composites (contain piezoelectric actuators) in the case offixed-free
plate. Three methods of resolution were proposed to solve relevant equations, and a fourth
one by finite elements using a ROBOT program. The results given by the different methods
were so close to each other and to the one given by the ROBOTprogram. In most cases the
difference never exceeded J0%. Once the method is verified the influence ofmany parameters
on the flexion behavior of the plates was studied, for instance: fiber percentage, thickness,
orientation and positioning of the plies inside the plates, and the voltage applied. In all of
cases of calculation, equivalent modules have been used taking into consideration the mechanical constraint ofcomposite and actuators. However, it was found that the positioning
located of an actuator in a plate or covered its equivalent on all over the plate gives same
results which facilitates the resolution ofthe behavior equations.
