When writing, the creator is not confronted with language, but with an interaction of languagesand usages, commonly known as interlanguage. The case of Algerian intellectuals Gallicized inbetweenthe two wars and torn between two different worlds and cultures, illustrates this dialogicphenomenon. Chukri Khodja’s El Euldj, Captif des Barbaresques, can reply to the feature ofpolyphony which explains the diversity of languages and styles within romantic statements.
