THE REALISATION OF RELIGIOUS DISCOURSE: THE CASE OF THE BIBLE AND AS SAHĪFATUS-SAJJĀDĪYAH

The importance of religious discourse and the procedures of understanding its realisation is beyond discussion. This importance reaches its peak when the Bible and As-sahīfatus-Sajjādīyah are examined. The present study sheds light on the definitions and approaches for studying religions, the language of religious discourse, the Bible as a religious discourse, As-sahīfatus-Sajjādīyah as a religious discourse, approaches for interpreting the Bible and As-sahīfatus-Sajjādīyah, etc. The study finds out that the most important aspect in these religious discourses is the high level of rhetoric. It is also concluded that this rhetoric will be better revealed if the new theories of rhetoric like RST are applied.
