Monitoring the Spatial Distribution of Pests Growth in IraqUsing Spatial Analysis and Degree Days Models

In this paper, we present a computerized system to monitor the growth ofpests in Iraq by proposing a web based system integrating Google maps withmathematical models to generate simultaneous maps to enable agriculturescientists and farmers to have insight about the growth of pests in their regions.The inverse distance weighting technique used to estimate temperature data ofeach point locations in the surface. Single sine model is applied to estimatedegree days due to its practicality in providing a better predictive capability. Theresults of the system viewed online on digital maps with a spatial resolution200km*200km.
