This field study has addressed the issue of the supply crisis of public institutions in essential drugs, and its repercussions on the nature of the relationship between physicians and patients. The results of this study have confirmed that the hospital dynamism is in danger, given the strategic and central importance of the medication in the patients’ care. The lack of drug supply has created a direct dysfunction in the structure and in the functioning of the public service by reason of failure of the external parties to the medical profession to meet their obligations towards the patients and the practice of medicine. L’objectif de cette étude est de montrer les effets de la pénurie des médicaments sur la relation médecins –patients qui est devenue conflictuelle. En second lieu, nous expliquons comment des acteurs importants dans le fonctionnement des institutions hospitalières telles que la tutelle, des importateurs des médicaments n’ont pas joué leur rôle dans l’approvisionnement des médicaments, c’est ce qui a aggravé la situation.
