Synthesis of 3- benzamido-5- thio acetone – 1،2،4 thiadiazole and their reactions with some transition metal salts

The new ligand 3-acetamido -5- thioacetone- 1،2،4- thiadiazole (L) has been prepared by nucleophilic substitution of 3- amino -5- mercapto-1،2،4- thiadiazole (TZ1) with acetyl chloride followed the product (TZ2) with chloro- a cetone in dry cyclo hexanol . The nitrates sults of Cu(NO3)2 .6H2O , Ni(NO3)2 .6H2O and Cu(NO3)2 .6H2O were reacted with L1 to yield new complexes of the formula [Co(L1)2(NO3)2] , [Ni L l)2](NO3)2] and [ Cu(L1)2 (H2O)2(NO3)2] of octahedral symmetry .The prepared compounds have been characterized by F.T.I.R , U.V – Vis . spectra morever , the magnetic susceptibility (Xg ) , and molar conductirity (Λm) were measured in D.M.S.O solvent .
