The synthesis of some substituted 1،3،4- oxadiazole1،2،4- triazol and 1،3- thiozolidin were carried out in the present work. N- (2- carboxyphenyl) glycine (M1) was converted to ethyl ester by its reaction with concentrated sulfuric acid in absolute ethanol. The reaction of the diacid ethyl ester with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol yielded the corresponding hydrazide. Substituted 1،3،4- oxadiazole was obtained by the reaction of hydrazide with benzoyl chloride then with polyphosphoric acid (PPA). While the reaction of hydrazide with p-nitrobenzaldehyde then with thioglycolic acid gave 1،3- thiozolidine. Furthermore the hydrazide was converted to the thiosemicarbazide, the latter was treated with base to give triazole. The synthesized compounds have been characterized and identified through the study of their physical properties and spectral analysis (IR, UV) in addition to the retardation factor (Rf).
