The paper traces back the impact of the Arabic sentence and its roots in the Arabic language starting from Sibawayh to the modern age. This is achieved through investigating the origin of the sentence and its diverse definitions، the origin of its arrangement and its subdivision either into nominal and verbal sentences or according to its place in a sentence as will be shown later. Moreover، the paper traces back the impact of the Arabic sentence on speech and the contextual orientation that results from the potential and segmental sentences. It also investigates the impact of deletion and traces back the effect of using sentence conjunctions and modifiers. These investigations are aided with proper syntactic examples taken from both the Holy Quran and the Arabic heritage written in poetry and prose. Finally، the paper is concluded with some findings and recommendations.
