This article sought to study the topic (The Father's Lament in Contemporary Arabic Poetry), in order to clarify the nature of this experience on the emotional and intellectual levels. The introduction of the article included the topic of lament and the reasons for choosing the topic, the research method and its structure . The research highlighted the poets attitudes from the experience of “losing the father”, where it was possible to distinguish three basic positions, which are: the position of grief and mourning, the position of nostalgia and remembrance, the position of reproach and remorse.
