The present paper attempts to provide a Gynocritical study of Elizabeth Barrett Browning s Sonnet 43 or How do I Love Thee, Sylvia Plath s Daddy and Fawzia Shalabi s Abdurrahman. Gynocritics is a type of feminist analysis that is mainly concerned with woman as writer. Its main focus is to develop a female framework for the analysis of women s literature and develop new models that are mainly based on the study of female experience rather than adapt them to male models and theories. The women writers chosen for this study are assumed to correspond to the three various stages in the development of this discipline: Feminine, Feminist and the Female
