This paper attempts to account for the dynamic wordorder of English and Arabic sentences within the frameworkof the principles and parameters of the discoursal informationstructure (informativity). The discussion involvesinvestigating the role of the movement of the structuralconfigurations of sentences in the two languages, specificallythe correlation between the syntactic structure and theinformation structure. It, also, discusses the ways of signalingdynamism, i.e. focus in these two languages. Dynamic wordorder is approached in terms of the degree of the informationvalue a component has on the scale of linguisticcommunication.
