This study dealt with the tendency of sadness in Chebbi’s poetry, standing on its causes through his poetry, and showed the factors that resulted in this tendency, and among those factors were the life of anxiety and turmoil that prevailed in the Arab world in general, and the Tunisian occupation of his country Tunisia, and the death of his father and his beloved, and one of the most important objectives of this study was: The tendency of sadness in the poetry of al-Shabi, and determining the factors that motivate it, the study. This study resulted in several results, including: - The diversity of styles in Al-Shabbi's poetry of appeal, questioning and dialogue. - The poet used easy weights and rhymes, as he arranged in duets, muwashshahs, and quatrains. Delinquency to use clear and easy vocabulary and stay away from strangeness and complexity
