This research aims to shed light on Hoard Gardner s theory of multiple intelligences (henceforth MIT), and explore the possibility of utilizing its educational applications in teaching students at different academic stages depending on diagnosing their strengths and weaknesses in these intelligences. This theory challenges the traditional view that intelligence is a unitary capacity and all people are born with a fixed amount of intelligence. It views intelligence as a set of abilities, talents, and skills in eight aspects: linguistic,mathematical-logical, spatial-visual, bodily-kinesthetic,musical-rhythmic, interpersonal, intrapersonal andnaturalistic. All humans possess these intelligences in varying degrees through which they are able to learnteach new information but no two individuals have them in the same exact amounts. In order to show that people have different abilities, students from university of Anbar, departments of English in the college of education for humanities and the education college for women, were chosen as researchsubjects. A questionnaire IS adopted from www.businessballs.com and performed to explore the different intelligences subjects have so as to diagnose or suggest appropriate teaching methodologies to improvestudents achievements. The questionnaire emphasizes the fact that learners are different and they consequently needdifferent teaching styles. The questionnaire also indicates interesting points regarding students in the college level that should be taken account of when designing textbooks,devising teaching techniques, and assessing students achievements.
