This research sheds light on Hardy`s pessimism and its effect on his pen. Thisblackness cannot be regarded as personal characteristic only since sweeps his works .theresearch also traces the true ground that encourages its appearance in all his works. Moreillumination is put on the philosophy of his pessimism that has the ability to create tragedy. In spite of the suffer of having such painful feature ,it injects hisworks with distinguished spirit and new sight and a power to compose tragedy . The researchtraces the pressure over his pen to soften his hard views, he refuses for many reasons abovethem that his pessimism his inherited and has deep root in his soul. The arena of searching isselected novels and his important poem in which he admits of having pessimism. He shoulders this blackness the responsibility of not tasting the true meaning of happiness
