The study aimed to identify the American security policy in the Mediterranean. The study was divided into several elements. The first dealt with the concept of security, which is one of the most widely used concepts in ancient and modern political literature in terms of being closely related to the life and fate of individuals and states and their continuity since ancient times. The second revealed the peculiarity of the issue of Mediterranean security. Security, no matter how different and multiple its meanings and concepts related to it, is of great and strategic importance, especially when this concept is associated with one of the most sensitive areas and exposed to international tensions and crises in the world. Its influence on it, which required it to adapt the concept of security in a way that serves its strategic interests, through the application of competitive theories and strategies, without any consideration for the sensitive and fragile nature of the region, which exposes the region to potential security clashes and threats at any moment. The third monitored the security tasks of the US Sixth Fleet, as well as the security policy of NATO, and the US security strategy after September 11, 2001, which included the strategy of military strike and the strategy of regime change. The study concluded by emphasizing that security and stability in the Mediterranean is one of the priorities of the United States of America, due to the European unio‎n not assuming its regional responsibilities, and for this reason, it is necessary to intervene in the region.
