Reasons for refraining from supervisory jobs from the point of view of teachers in schools in the State of Kuwait: A prophetic study

The study aimed to reveal the trend towards supervisory jobs, and to identify the reasons for the reluctance from supervisory jobs from the teachers’ point of view in the schools of the State of Kuwait, as well as to identify the statistically significant differences in the reasons for the reluctance from supervisory jobs that are attributed to the study variables (gender, job, and qualification). , years of experience, and school stage), and the detection of any statistically significant effect of the reasons for reluctance (administrative, technical, personal, and social) in predicting the general orientation towards the profession of educational supervision. The study sample consisted of (1163) teachers from the Ministry of Education in the State of Kuwait. The researcher used the descriptive survey method based on a questionnaire as a tool for the study. The study reached many results, most notably that the degree of teachers' reluctance to take over supervisory jobs is high. As for the reasons for reluctance; Technical reasons came first, then administrative reasons, personal reasons, and finally social ones. These reasons can be used in the general trend towards the profession of educational supervision. The results of the study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences attributed to demographic variables, with regard to the reasons for reluctance.
