In this study we introduce new method to detect edge in medical X-ray images, this method depend on exponential fitting. The basic idea of this method, is the arranged local image data and estimate the best exponential fitting equation where the difference between real image data and the approximated data from exponential equation, small in homogenous image region, and high in edge image region. So, these properties can be adopted to estimate image edges. The suggested edge detection method for this type of images gives low false edge and low isolated points. The new edge detector, highly success in determines straight lines and gives thin and good edges and can be used for describing edges for different structures and shapes of the bodies in medical x-ray images.
