Effect of thickness on optical properties of Cr2O3 thin film

Thin films of chromium oxide Cr2O3 were prepared using chemical spray pyrolysis method on glass substrate Preheated to 500 oC with different thickness. X- ray diffraction study indicated that the films were polycrystalline. The thickness dependence on optical properties (absorption coefficient, extinction coefficient and energy gap for direct transition) of transparent Cr2O3 thin films was studied. The present study showed that the energy gap for direct transition does not influenced by thickness change, its value remained nearly constant for all prepared thin films.
